Six of the boys are posing on Central New England Railroad #41 shown here outside of a engine house at an unknown location (maybe Winsted, CT) and year (probably around 1900). I suspect the men on the running board are the engineer and fireman and the (very tall) conductor is standing on top of the cylinder valve.
