High Steppin'Boston and Maine Class J Atlantic #3235 at an unknown location and date, but probably the late 40s. Built at Manchester in 1909 and scrapped in 1952, it was the last Atlantic on the roster. Atlantics, were replaced by Pacifics on the named passenger trains and they were relegated to commuter trains like this one the first car of which is an old Laconia open platform coach. An extra large steam turbogenerator visible just ahead of the cab was used to provide lighting for the coaches. From the great lens of Al Hale.
