Sluggo

One of the last creations of the B&M boys at Billerica was this slug set which included B&M GP-40s 301 and 302. Slug (TEBU)100 was built from a sacrificed UP GP-9. Read about it in the March 1985 B&M Bulletin article "Sluggo,' Nancy and Fritz" .It is here seen under Guilford ownership drifting downgrade through the Ayer Interlocking approach signals at Patterson Road in Shirley, aka "Mitchellville" with a single car in tow. The slug was on the Guilford dead line at E Deerfield in 1992 and is long gone as are the approach signals in this picture.

Once again, and with feeling, this picture demonstrated the validity of the aphorism—“What a way to run a railroad “👎🤢🙄😳
