From July, 1959, 1200, 1400 and 1600 class units became common on Needham Branch schedules. At the time they also worked Shoreline trains. Looking back, the second order of 2000s, arriving in 1960, seems to have been a turning point for finding 1400s, 1600s or RS-3s on passenger trains.
