Gaggle of N&W RS-11s at Bison Yard Buffalo

In fall of 1978, six former NKP RS-11s in at least three different paint schemes (including 1 that that must have been painted with water colors allowing its NKP livery to bleed through) work at N&W's Bison Yard at Buffalo NY. N&W's Bison partner, the EL is gone having been replaced by Conrail who in another 5 years move all its Buffalo ops to nearby Frontier Yard. Today NS Bison Yard is a flat yard with auto and intermodal facilities, a shadow of its former self prior to C-Day.

Photographed by John Barlow, October, 1978.
Added to the photo archive by John Barlow, June 7, 2019.
