NJTR 4609 lALP-46) leads NJ Transit train 6227 into the Upper Monstclair station on its run from Penn Station, NY to Montclair State Univ, 2 stops to the west of Upper Montclair. I was surprised by the chalking of the numbers on 4609; I thought the numberboard would provide the numbers with more protection than is apparently the case.
