NS Executive Kentucky Derby OCS at Waddy KYNS OCS 955 is deadheading home at the siding at Waddy, KY of the Louisville District after hosting NS guests at the Kentucky Derby the previous day. 1800hp F-9A 4270 has an impressive history as it started life in 1952 as a B&O F7 that was re-manufactured by Morris Knudsen in 1981 for use by Maryland Rail Commuter operation. NS acquired 4270 and mates less than a year earlier than this photo was taken from KCS (apparently GP-38 5646 was a stand-in for F-9A 4271). Today, NS has renumbered the OCS F-9A units to 270 and the ex-CGW F-7B locomotives are now numbered 275 and 276.
