Dudley Street Elevated
Before there was an MBTA Orange Line, before there was an MTA, it was called The Elevated, or, more properly, The Boston Elevated Railway. We are standing on the wooden platform at Dudley Street station, high above Washington Street as an outbound train is arriving. At this time you could ride the elevated lines from Forest Hills to Everett only ducking underground after Dover Street and emerging at North Station. This part of the elevated was the last to go in 1987
