UP 4014's journey began with a very slow 20 mile westward move on Metrolink to reach UP rails at Bassett. Four miles into its eastward trek, the Big Boy passes the yard entry at City of Industry California. Confidence gained in the complex lubrication system had allowed an improvement in speed.
