MERU at Shirley

On a hazy morning, Boston & Maine train MERU (Mechanicville-Rumford via B&M/MEC) rolls east near Shirley, MA, behind a trio of GP40-2s. Solid B&M lashups like this were uncommon by 1984 as the Guilford organization mixed up power.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, August 21, 1984.
Added to the photo archive by Tom Nelligan, May 5, 2018.
