Detroit, MIWe've seen lately photos of PC trains hauling US Mail in Flexi-Vans. This end shot exemplifies why it worked. On left you see a bogie and tractor that could "spin" the van off the railcar onto the bogie ready for run to the Post Ofice (and return). All that was need was pavement next to track adjacent to the passenger station. Now it's done by TOFC at intermodal terminals which works equally as well.
