New Hampshire's ALCO HQ

A recent trip to the Whale's Tale brought us here to the HOBO RR in Lincoln. The only place in New Hampshire where you could get two ALCO's in the same picture.

The 958 (S1) in the foreground had just arrived pushing the excursion train back to the station, while the 1186 (S3) was in the background. The other two ALCO's that the HOBO RR have #959 & #1008 (Both S1's) are both owned by the State of NH and are stored in Lakeport.

Although 1186 was originally constructed as an S-3, it is currently an S-1. The AAR trucks have been replaced by Blount trucks.
