Today's southbound finds "construction" alongside the tracks as the nearby asphalt crew laying a new topcoat on the Sunderland (Vt.) straightaway have picked one of the hottest days of the year to accomplish their task. 2663 and 303 have the honors, and later will return "light" when RJ-1 misses the connection due to trackwork. Next week portions of the B&R itself will undergo some tie replacement as the gangs near Chester have completed that project.
