Philadelphia & Columbia RR Whitehall Station, Bryn Mawr, PA, 1860 & 2011 This dual image shows the Whitehall Station eleven miles west of Philadelphia on the Philadelphia & Columbia Railroad in about 1860 and how the building looks today as part of the Bryn Mawr Hospital Thrift Shop (the hospital it located just out of view to the right across Haverford Road). President Abraham Lincoln's funeral train stopped briefly at this station in April, 1865, as it made its way from Washington to Springfield, IL. The Bryn Mawr station of the Philadelphia & Western Railroad (P&W), a light rail line operated by SEPTA that runs between the 69th St Terminal in West Philadelphia and Norristown, PA,, is just out of view to the left.
