Amtrak introduced Turboliners in its "Empire Service" across New York State in 1976 with seven RTL trainsets built by the Rohr Corporation.

The five-car sets were Americanized versions of the agency's six RTG consists acquired from French National Railways beginning in 1973.

Amtrak later augmented the RTLs with three of the RTG sets, which were rebuilt with streamlined cabs similar to the Rohr power cars.

Here's RTG II power car #68 on an eastbound "Empire Service" train at Utica Union Station.
