Photo of NYNJ Rail #1133 & ex-BEDT/ NYCH caboose
NYNJ Rail #1133 & ex-BEDT/ NYCH caboose

The original heritage of the caboose is unknown. It is known it was painted dark green, the red and used as the Master Mechanics office at the Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal, at Kent Avenue & North 8th Street until BEDT closed in 1983. New York Cross Harbor relocated it here same year, where it has remained ever since.

NYNJRail #1133 (ex-UPY) SW1500 appears to have been "modified" for cold weather operation (note the large sheet of cardboard on front grill!).
