The Boston bound train is leaning into the relatively sharp curve resulting from the Boston & Providence's belated entry into Central Falls, RI. The B&P originally built to India Point but found it necessary to join the Providence & Worcester when a Union Station was built in Providence. I am standing on the P&W facing the Pawtucket-Central Falls station in the distance. At an earlier time the P&W track to my left continued into the junction through a crossing of the Boston route westbound track. What appears to be a single semaphore on the mast is really an interlocking signal with two blades. Note the dwarf signals. The tower (SS 156) had closed in 1935 after its duties were transferred to Woodlawn Tower.
