The New Haven borrowed US Army locomotives after the 1955 floods and over several months after August there were as many as 38 Army diesels at work. I shot the two ALCO MSR-1's from near the Central St. bridge in Central Falls, RI at Boston Switch. At this point the four tracks out of Providence will reduce into the P&W route on the left and the old B&P line to Boston on the right. I think the freight was taking the B&P line as indicated by the semaphore signal ( the signals for the Boston express track on the far right are set at stop).
