ARMY DIESELS AT BOSTON SWITCHThe New Haven borrowed US Army locomotives after the 1955 floods and over several months after August there were as many as 38 Army diesels at work. I shot the two ALCO MSR-1's from near the Central St. bridge in Central Falls, RI at Boston Switch. At this point the four tracks out of Providence will reduce into the P&W route on the left and the old B&P line to Boston on the right. I think the freight was taking the B&P line as indicated by the semaphore signal ( the signals for the Boston express track on the far right are set at stop).
