EAST SOMERVILLE ROUNDHOUSE - SPRING OF 56There was a happy time when you could wander through the B&M's Boston Engine Facility and never be questioned. I made a number of solo trips there when I was still in high school and spent hours without being bothered (I was neatly dressed, behaved carefully and didn't attract attention). Steam was near its end but usually there were still several Pacifiics and Moguls in steam at one end of the very large roundhouse.
