DL&W Roseville Tunnel at Andover, NJ

This is the east portal of the former DL&W Roseville Tunnel in Andover, NJ. The tunnel was part of the Lackawanna's legendary New Jersey Cutoff, which was completed in 1910. Shamefully, the line was abandoned in 1979 and the tracks torn out in 1984 and 1985. If plans actually come to fruition, this part of the Cutoff will see trains again when New Jersey Transit rebuilds 7 miles of the Cutoff for service from Port Morris to Andover.
