Tall Steel trestle at Ottawa Brook, Cape Breton Island

Ottawa Brook, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia is the scene where this "tall steel" style trestle stands. Only a few miles East of here is another similar bridge at MacKinnons Harbour. This is the main line of the CB&CNS, former CN "Sydney Subdivision". These bridges date from the lines construction in 1890. The day I took this picture, I had arrived after driving about 5 hours directly from Greenwood, Nova Scotia (I flew in from Winnipeg Manitoba for a work related meeting) With no scanner and no idea, I missed catching a Westbound train on this now lightly travelled line by no more then three minutes! What luck!
