MBTA commuter rail arrives in Lincoln, NH

Twelve years ago MBTA coaches reached Lincoln, NH. Not for passenger service but for retrofitting of new toilets in the MBB cars. Perhaps a dozen cars + - were out shopped to the Hobo Railroad for the new incinerator toilets. That fellow on the ladder cleaning the windows is Ed Clark founder of the present Hobo RR and the Winnipesaukee Railroad. Ed Clark has since passed away but his legend continues on under his son Ben Clark, daughter Jennifer Clark and Ed's wife Brenda Clark.

Photographed by G Kenson, August 1, 1996.
Added to the photo archive by George Kenson, October 28, 2008.
Railroad: Hobo Railroad.
