Former NH FlatFormer MNCX wire train flat, and now the property of the Valley Railroad. I am doing a bit of research on the history of this car at this time. Here is what I do know at this time:
-Former New Haven Railroad 17500 series (the numbers "75" still show on her flanks)
-Built as a highway trailer flatcar (1951-53)
-By 1960 most of these cars had been removed from highway trailer service and moved into general service or sold-off to other railroads due to the interstate highways opening up.
-Weights about 23.5 tons
-40 feet long
-American Steel Foundries (ASF) A-3 Ride Control trucks
-Has a unique solid cast frame built by General Steel Castings.
-Assembled by the railroad Maybrook or possibly Readville shops.
