Original MBTA system map

Dating back to the late 1960s and only accurate for two years, this map was the first color coded subway map in use by the then young MBTA.

Among the oddities today: an A line, the E all the way to Arborway, the Red Line only going to Harvard and Ashmont, Orange Line going to Everett.

Photographed by Edward Findlay, December 20, 2006.
Added to the photo archive by Edward Findlay, January 24, 2007.
Railroad: MBTA.
