Above the west portal of the ill-fated Church Hill Tunnel in Richmond, Virginia. The tunnel collapsed in 1926, entombing a train a few hundred feet from this entrance.

The plaque reads:

"In memory of the unidentified African-Americans whose souls rest in this tunnel, 75 years to this day after its collapse. And in memory of: Richard Lewis, Thomas Mason, Ben Mosby, H. Smith who also died that fateful day. October 2, 2000."

Photographed by Ernest Hunt, November 24, 2006.
