Trams and Trains

Seattle Waterfront Trolley #482, a former Melbourne, Australia tram, loads passengers at the line's Broad Street platform as BNSF C44-9W #5253 passes with a westbound intermodal train

The train is coming into town on the road's Scenic Sub, which includes the 7.79-mile Cascade Tunnel at Stevens Pass. The two lines paralleled each other for a short stretch before the BNSF tracks duck into the tunnel under downtown Seattle

The now-closed streetcar route passed Pike Place Market, the Washington State Ferry terminal and Pioneer Square on its way to the International District. The Trolley operated as King County Metro Route #99.
