Colorado Railcar's Aero DMU Demonstrator #2002 accelerates along the Portland & Western's ex-SP Tillamook Branch through Beaverton, Ore. while on its 2002 national tour.

Portland-area transit agency TriMet ordered Colorado Railcar DMUs for suburb-to-suburb regional service between Beaverton and Wilsonville, which began in February 2009.

The trains, operating as the Westside Express Service (WES), use a stretch of the former Tillamook Branch and a segment of P&W's ex-BN (Oregon Electric) line.

Four cars -- DMUs #1001-1003 and cab trailer coach #2001 -- operate on 16 round trips each weekday. Eight round trips operate during each rush-hour period.
