Bearing Cross Railroad Bridge UP Position

The Bearing Cross Railroad Bridge over the Arkansas River at Little Rock with the lift span section in the raised position. The bridge is controlled locally by the Locust Street Operator (who now is in the 4th Street Offices near the bridge). Notice the counterweights blocking a trains path which prevent it from going "over the bridge."

Photographed by Jim Haguewood, October 24, 2004.
Added to the photo archive by Jim Haguewood, December 5, 2004.
Railroad: Union Pacific.
