Some pretty old iron here...Pictured is one of the rails on the passing siding still used by the CSRR for run-arounds at Crawford's Depot. On the iron it says:
Lackwanna 8 1918
Which I assume is the date of manufacture.
The siding which they do not use, grown over al all, has rail that looks like it dates from 1912. Meaning, you Baby boat fans, this is the same rail that the U-18 MEC GEs ran over lst, 20 years ago.
