BML#61 (exBAR #61), a 1901 vintage 4-6-0 Manchester (Builder's #1784) acquired from the Bangor & Aroostook RR in April, 1945, heading out of the Water Street yard in Belfast on a passenger run to Burnham to meet the Maine Central's train to Portland. It is pulling BML #72 (exSSW #72), a baggage car acquired from the St. Louis & Southwestern RR in January, 1931, and BML #11 (ex P&R #910) and BML #12 (exP&R #940), a pair of 1907 open vestibule Harlen & Hollingsworth built coaches acquired from the Philadelphia & Reading RR in January, 1927. The bridge in the background carried U.S. Rt. #1 across the Passagassawakeag River. (It was converted to a footbridge when the Rt. #1 bypass and new Veterans Bridge was opened several hundred feet upriver in the 1960's.)
