NYC RDC Budd Car Eastbound at Palmer,MAHere is a late 1950's photograph. This is what appears to be an RDC-1. It is heading eastbound from the Palmer, MA Station. The Palmer Station can be seen just above the billowing smoke of the diesel. This is after the crossovers of the Central Vermont. It is just about to duck under the road overpass from which this photo was taken. One can see the old engine house in the back right of the picture. The tracks to the left of the photo are currently serviced by CSX, the tracks to the right are operated by Mass Central with trackage rights for New England Central and Amtrak. The track to the engine house is gone, and the double track is essentially one track and a passing siding now. The double track and double crosstrack are gone though.
