NYC Eastbound Train @ Palmer,MA

Another late 1950's photograph. Eastbound New England States train with an NYC FA-1 on point. This picture was taken from the old overpass over the tracks there. The scene looks much the same today with the exception of the train and the Palmer Station, now a junk shop. The second track to the direct right of the train is still there but is only a passing siding that switches back to the main before the crosstrack. It must have been nice to listen to a CV train pounding accross the double crosstrack that was located there in the 1950's! Toward the back left of the photo, the top roof of the station can be seen in the background.

Photographed by David Worth, 1958.
Added to the photo archive by Xian Clere, January 19, 2004.
Railroad: New York Central.
