This grade crossing at Mt. Hope Avenue in Fall River has not seen a train for many years. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is exploring the feasibilty of reopening the line through Fall River to Newport for passenger and freight service. I grew up 2 houses away from this grade crossing and spent my first days as a railfan back in the early 1970's at the tender age of 5.
