Rio Grande Ski Train January 2006 - 1

Early on Saturday morning January 21, 2006, 3 F40PHs specially painted for the Ski Train out of Denver enters the first of the Big Ten curves at Rocky siding to climb into the Rockies headed for Winter Park ski area just west of Moffat Tunnel. In this era of the Ski Train, a collection of 14 publicly accessible cars (coaches, snack bar coaches, cafe/lounge, and club car) - rebuilt former CN Tempo cars built by Hawker-Siddeley in 1968, were used to haul the skiers for the day's outing.
