R&N King Coal first class lounge observation carThis pristine boat tail obs is the tail car on the Saturday/Sunday regularly scheduled Pittston to Jim Thorpe and return excursion. It is seen here at Pittston on Friday evening awaiting the next day's run. This car was built as a coach for the Illinois Central in 1918 and then rebuilt by the IC as a streamline heavyweight obs lounge for the City of New Orleans streamliner inaugurated in 1947. We should all look so resplendent at 106 years old!
