Eastbound (southbound)A coal empties at Sandcut, California. This point begins the transition from agricultural territory to rugged setting for the climb to Tehachapi. On SP all movements away from Number One Market street, San Francisco, were considered eastbound. The mile posts numbers on all routes reflected that as well.
