Amtrak Train 67 Stopping at Kingston Station, RIAMTK 669, the next-to-last ACS-64 has almost brought train 67 to a stop to pick up passengers at Kingston Station, making this available light photo possible. Behind the 669 are a Viewliner II baggage car, of no use from Kingston Station, and a Viewliner Sleeper, a relatively new addition to trains 66 and 67 after years of offering only coach and business class overnight between Boston, Washington, and Newport News.
The sensors in Nikon digital cameras are amazing in their ability to capture low-light detail; the raw image from the camera for this photo is solid black on the side of the 669, except where platform lights and signs are reflected. Using Lightroom and PhotoShop I was able to recover this image I am quite happy with.
