Photo of Bennett Lake, BC
Bennett Lake, BC

At the time passenger cars were on the rear of regular service container trains running between Skagway, Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory Canada. For a short stretch south of Bennett, the main line splits in two and rejoins again just past the station. Here the two helper units have cut away and rest on the wye track, as the train out of Skagway moves ahead to spot the passenger cars at the station. After having time for a meal in the station restaurant, some passengers will board the train pictured, to return to Skagway. Others will continue to Whitehorse.
