Tennessee Pass

Westbound SLROT eases down off the 3.5% grade at East Pando. An easier gradient through Pando means the locomotives can cool the brakes and DB resistors for a bit before heading down the 2.5% to Minturn.

Photographed by BandAfan, September 4, 1990.
Added to the photo archive by Carl Weber Jr., April 18, 2005.
Railroad: Denver & Rio Grande Western.
