Cleanup begins on NYC derailment in the 1960's @ Palmer,MA

This was taken in 1960. A massive derailment at Palmer, MA!!!! Cars turned over, wheels everywhere! Dents and paint chips. Someone got in trouble for this. I am unsure of the cause of the derailment.

Still the wheels of progress must get back on track and turn again, thus the cleanup begins. A railroad worker stands ready to cut with a blow torch.

Photographed by David Worth, 1960.
Added to the photo archive by Xian Clere, January 31, 2004.
Railroad: New York Central.
