First Chessie System locomotive - 10 years later B&O 4100 was the first new locomotive to be delivered in the new Chessie System image in 1976. Here, in the summer of 1986, the engine sits on the ready track at the Brunswick, MD engine facility on a weekend morning. The first 10 units (B&O 4100-4109) were delivered with the extra-large lettering on the cab side, with the rest having the normally-sized B&O/C&O lettering. Photographed by Joshua Moldover, June, 1986. Added to the photo archive by Joshua Moldover, August 20, 2001. Railroad: CSX.| Joshua Moldover's awards: | |
