Arrival of the first F40PH MBTA locomotives

These were the first five F40PH locomotives to
arrive on the B&M, purchased by the MBTA for commuter
Rail Service on 10/16/1978. They have just cleared the
interlocking at the Willows in Ayer, MA and heading east onto the Fitchburg Division single iron. Engr. D.A.T.
