Arrival of the first F40PH MBTA locomotives These were the first five F40PH locomotives to
arrive on the B&M, purchased by the MBTA for commuter
Rail Service on 10/16/1978. They have just cleared the
interlocking at the Willows in Ayer, MA and heading east onto the Fitchburg Division single iron. Engr. D.A.T. Photographed by Wayne D. Hills, October 16, 1978.
