Redondo Jct. tower after dark

Redondo Jct. tower with a WB UP stack train passing, lead by a Cotton Belt GP-60. Redondo Jct. is under construction in conjunction with the Alameda Corridor project. The Metrolink flyover will remove the former Santa Fe tracks that cross the UP here.
The progress is both awe inspiring and saddening, my friends are operators here and I have worked on restoring the interlocking machine's wood finish - hopfully somebody will save it.

Photographed by Allan Gilbert, February 18, 2001.
Added to the photo archive February 23, 2001.
Railroad: Union Pacific.
