Rails Rust in the Catskills

Looking east from Phoenicia, the weeds and rust grow on the Ulster & Delaware. For the first time since 1982, the rails will lie unused. The CMRR, longtime operator, was not offered a permit for 2017, and the new "operator", a railbike Company called Rail Explorers, has announced they will not operate here either in 2017. What a waste. Trail advocates are already making plans to remove the rails forever.
