Snow Plow Train @ Pittsfield, MA

A Conrail snow plow train rumbles eastbound past the former GE transformer plant at Pittsfield, Mass., on a very windy and cold January afternoon in 1996.
A record snowfall total of 146 inches of snow buried much of the Berkshires during the severe winter of 1995-96. The Russell plows were out in force as well as the Conrail rotary snowblower, the "SB1000". The black stuff in the sky in the upper left is exhaust from the engines.
