Photo of Cushing Stone Co. EMD model 40
Cushing Stone Co. EMD model 40

Cushing Stone Company's quarry is at the west end of track. There is a long passing siding on the north side of 5s. Conrail would bring empty ballast hoppers there and Cushing stone would go across the highway and get the empties and bring them up to the plant for loading. The motive power is this EMD model 40. It has not turned a wheel since last summer. Yes, I asked to photograph it, It runs, and this is as close as you can get to it.
