New York Container Terminal (M&E #20 [SW1500]); Howland Hook, Staten Island, NYWhile in Staten Island researching the former Procter & Gamble Railroad operation (1907-1990), I was in vicinity of the New York Container Terminal, which occupies a portion of of the former P&G property.
The New York Container Terminal is an extremely secure location, and photography is very much frowned upon. (read: prohibited). I was fortunate enough to meet an employee a few years back, of whom I bumped into again this day; and was generous enough to let me snap a picture or three.
Morristown & Erie #20 [SW1500] was being leased, due to the New York Container Terminal locomotive #2109 [GP38-2] being out of service for a cracked gear pan.
