GG1 #4876, pulled The Federal Express

At 8:36 AM, January 15, 1953, Train #173, The Boston to Washington "Federal Express," with engine #4876 lost brakes and crashed through the gates at the end of track 16 in Union Station, A "frozen angle cock valve" was the culprit. Amazingly, there were no major injuries or deaths. Now at B&O Railroad Museum, Baltimore MD, awaiting restoration.
